Volunteer Hiring for 2024/25 is NOW OPEN!


The Students’ Union hires student volunteers to help us run our Programming, Services and various other departments throughout the school year.  

We welcome and encourage applications from qualified individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, persons with disabilities, and persons of a minority.


Coordinators: A coordinator works directly with their departmental Vice President to lead their executive team in running, improving, and promoting their committee during the year.

Executives: An executive works in collaboration with their coordinator to plan, promote, and facilitate their committee’s operations, with responsibilities varying based on position.

General Members: join a large team of volunteers to help aid in the facilitation of programming/services and the promotion of respective committees.

Now Hiring all Students' Union committees

Activities Team (Waterloo) & Hawk Team (Brantford): Responsible for the planning and execution of large-scale programming. Including but not limited to, Orientation nighttime programming, Welcome Back Concerts, variety shows, and more.


Campus Advocacy:The Campus Advocacy Committee is tasked with advocating to and for students, developing a fluent two-way dialogue, and acting as representatives for the Government and Stakeholder Relations department at the student level. We run educational campaigns to inform students about issues they may encounter during their time as a university student


Clubs & Associations Marketing Team: The Multi-Campus Clubs and Associations Marketing Committee is responsible for all marketing and communications from the Clubs & Associations department and manages the campus-specific Clubs & Associations media pages: @wacampusclubs and @lbcampusclubs.


EcoHawks (Waterloo Only):Our key objective for the coming year of Ecohawks is to advance environmental sustainability and encourage eco-consciousness within the Laurier community while informing students on current environmental issues.


Emergency Response Team (Waterloo Only):  The Emergency Response Team attends on-campus events to provide advanced First Aid services to students and guests at events.


Food Bank: Food Bank aims to address food insecurity among undergraduate students by providing a free food parcel service for the full calendar year. Volunteering for the Food Bank provides volunteers with the opportunity to serve the student community, pack parcels, and participate in events that promote the Food Bank.


Foot Patrol: Foot Patrol is Wilfrid Laurier University's free Safe-Walk Home program, run by our dedicated volunteers. If you need a safe walk home in the evening, just give us a call, and we'll send a pair of volunteers to walk with you. We're passionate about keeping our campus safe and making sure everyone feels included and welcome.


Hiring and Recruitment: The Hiring and Recruitment Committee is a great way to get human-resources experience, be a part of the Student's Union community and have the opportunity to work on a team.


Shinerama: is Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser, originating at Wilfrid Laurier University in 1961. We aim to raise funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a fatal genetic condition affecting young Canadians.


Student Rights Advisory Committee: The Student Rights Advisory Committee strives to educate and provide readily available information on landlord-tenant rights and digestible information on the Residential Tendencies Act!

Icebreaker & GO Team Hiring - NOW OPEN!


Looking for a way to get involved in Orientation? We are hiring Icebreakers & GO Team volunteers!


Orientation is the first opportunity that incoming undergraduate students get to experience what it means to be a Laurier Golden Hawk!


 
Wilf's Summer Hours Monday thru Thursday 11:30am - 3:00pm

Wilf’s is open during the summer offering Dine-In, Take Out & Online Ordering. They have launched a brand new MENU!


 

The Laurier Marketing Team is looking for students who are interested in being in a professional photo shoot to be used in institutional marketing materials.

 

Photo Shoot Dates & Locations:

  • June 17, 2024: Milton Campus Photo Shoot

  • Between 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (MILTON campus)

  • Students from any campus are welcome to take part in this shoot!

  • June 24, 2024: Brantford Campus Photo Shoot

  • Between 12:30 pm and 7 pm (Brantford campus)

  • June 25, 2024: Waterloo Campus Photo Shoot

  • Between 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Waterloo campus)

 

A meal, snacks and beverages will be provided.  There is also an incentive for students who participate.
