Letter from the President re: Fall 2020 Announcement

 

Dear Undergraduate Students,

We hope that this letter finds you well and that you are all continuing to prioritize your health, safety and wellbeing at this time.  The COVID-19 crisis continues to cause uncertainty in the community at large, and for our organization.

Fortunately, as many of you may have noticed this morning, the University has made a decision regarding the fall. It appears to be a hybrid model that will have some in-person class but largely remote delivery of academics. The Students’ Union is focussed on maintaining our valued student experience and are working hard on how that will look. There is a certain level of freedom that this decision allows for our organization as we can now officially commit to a plan for September, but we recognize that there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered.

In the coming days, the Students’ Union will be developing a plan around many of the variables involved in the wake of this decision and will keep you as up to date as often as we can. We are continuing to work diligently with our partners at the University to try and provide as many answers to your questions as we can. It is our intention to communicate with the students of Wilfrid Laurier University, the volunteers of the Students’ Union and the staff team as well. Until then we will be proceeding with business as usual.
