Vice President: Programming and Services Brantford

The Vice President: Programming & Services Brantford supports all student-focused functions for the students of Wilfrid Laurier University on the Brantford Campus. The goal of the Programming & Services Brantford department is to take a holistic approach, integrating the initiatives of campus activities, programming and student services, focusing on enhancing the overall undergraduate student experience on the Brantford Campus. You will work in collaboration with the Brantford-based Associate Vice Presidents and multi-campus Vice Presidents to ensure all goals for the department are met. Reporting to the President & CEO, you will be focused on achieving the goals of the Programming & Services department of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union for the Brantford campus.

POSITION LEVEL: Full-time, 12 month contract starting May 1st 2020 through to April 30th 2021
EDUCATION: Pursuing or completed a post-secondary degree at Wilfrid Laurier University
TIME COMMITMENT: Full-time position, with an expectation to work 40-44hrs a week

Line Cook

The Hospitality Services department oversees all hospitality operations of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union on the Waterloo and Brantford campuses. Our operations consist of Wilf’s Restaurant & Bar and The Turret on the Waterloo campus, and Golden Grounds Coffee Pub on the Brantford campus. Along with the daily aspects of a restaurant and nightclub/bar operations, a variety of catering and special events are held within the establishments. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager Waterloo, the Line Cook will be focused on the daily kitchen operations within our business establishments on the Waterloo campus. The incumbent will be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, be extremely well organized, detail oriented, have strong interpersonal skills and excellent time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ontario Secondary School Diploma, Safe Food Handler Certification, and First Aid Certification an asset. Knowledge of, and experience with, kitchen equipment necessary.

TIME COMMITMENT: Full-time, contract position, with the expectation to work 35-44hrs per week; shifts are primarily 4:00pm to 12:00am or 6:00pm to close (2:00am) Monday through Sunday; traditional hours of operation for both Wilf’s Restaurant & Bar and The Turret are 11:00am to 2:00am, 7 days a week, therefore evening and weekend work hours are to be expected.
