Chief Returning Officer – Waterloo (Part-time)

SUMMARY:

Under the primary guidance of the Chief Governance Officer Designate, the Chief Returning Officer directly reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for all aspects of the elections and referenda process for the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, including the administration of the polling stations, coordination and accuracy of ballot counting, in addition to ruling on elections matters. The incumbent will be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, be extremely well organized, detail oriented, have strong interpersonal skills and excellent time management skills.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific functions of the Chief Returning Officer encompass a wide variety of roles and responsibilities that may from time to time be modified as the Chief Governance Officer Designate, the Chief Returning Officer, and/or the Board of Directors sees fit. More specifically, the Chief Returning Officer is accountable for all activities encompassing the elections period with the cooperation of the Chief Governance Officer Designate.

Time commitment/hours of operation: Part-time position, hours will vary.
